Long Island Awnings was founded in 2010 by Eric Klemm with a simple mission: to bring high-quality, professionally installed retractable shade solutions to homeowners and businesses across Long Island. What started as a one-man operation working out of a truck has grown into the premier retractable awning, screen, and roof company serving all of Nassau County and Suffolk County.
Over the years, Eric and his team have built a reputation that speaks for itself. Our success on Long Island led to the natural expansion of the business. Eric also owns and operates Shady Awning Company (shadyawning.com), our sister company serving Florida's Gulf Coast. The two companies share supplier relationships, product expertise, and the same high standards of quality and service. What we learn from installing retractable systems in Florida's tropical heat and hurricane conditions makes us better at serving Long Island's unique climate of coastal salt air, summer humidity, harsh winters, and nor'easters, and vice versa.
